The Map of Consciousness Explained is more than a book: it’s a guide to help us with our ascension mission, so that we can unlock more of our consciousness and reach higher levels of our own inner operating system.
What the book exposes to us is that our emotions are not only necessary, but the key to understanding our human nature and how to override the default settings.
Every emotion is a level on its own. The more we are aware of our emotional state, the more we are able to “quantum jump” between timelines, depending on how skilled we are at alchemising our emotional states!
Emotions Equal Energetic Alignment
Every emotional state has it own energetic expression and alignment.
If you’re angry, for example, you will only be energetically aligned to go through a number of opportunities or people that correspond to your state of being.
Anger would place you at the frequency of 150, which is between Pride (150) and Desire (125), with a highest expression of hatred.
Similarly, if you’re addressing the world from an angry perspective, you will only be able to reach the people who operate at that frequency or are permanently stuck there. That is to say that only other people are angry and whose highest expression is hatred will be able to resonate with you if Anger is truly your inner state of being (opposed to a peaceful person who has been angered by injustice).
If your default state is “anger towards the world”, this would drastically limit your chances of experiencing many of Earth’s wonders, because you wouldn’t be able to appreciate them even if the Universe gifted you with a glimpse of them.
Unfortunately, this is how many people on Earth spend most of their lifetime – resenting their current circumstances without realising that they have all the power to change them, and above all, to change their perspective, which would assist them in bettering their circumstances.
Disclaimer: A peaceful person who expresses anger will communicate it from the lens of their energetic alignment with Peace. This is why people who have done the inner work to raise their consciousness are able to communicate with such clarity and impact without being so affected by the immediate circumstances – their understanding of their own identity coupled with their faith and vision for the future allows them to remain at the level of Peace, so that they can reach many more people with their work and words.
Step 1: Understand where you are
Once you become aware of your emotions, you will be able to understand where you are in your journey.
Let’s say that you are attached to the emotions of anger and grief due to childhood trauma. It is entirely your responsibility to:
embark on your healing journey to examine the lessons from your early life experiences that are attached to the lower frequencies
integrate the wisdom from your memories while disconnecting from all the earlier versions of you that perhaps didn’t get the validation they needed, which created the need for you to travel back in time to successfully integrate the parts of you that were stuck in “arrested development”
release what’s no longer serving you with appreciation for the full spectrum of emotions that you are able to experience as a human
return to the present moment with a clear understanding that the only time in which you can exist and create conscious change is the present moment
Awareness of your current emotional state makes it possible for you to take action in alignment with the emotional states you want to reach and embody next!
Step 2: Choose where you want to be
If you want to make the journey from point A to point B, you have to able to name the two locations, so that you can understand how to find the best route.
Most people say that they want to be happy, but
(1) they don’t even know what happiness means to them, because they are unaware of their own identity and what truly makes them happy, and
(2) they aren’t willing to face their inner world, be honest about how they’re truly feeling right now and then take full accountability for their own state of being (when it’s easier to blame society or other people for their own life)
So, let’s say that you are feeling quite a lot of apathy towards the world right now.
Apathy would place you at the frequency of 50, which is right above Guilt (30) and Shame (20) – and below Grief (75) – with a highest expression of despair.
The good news about apathy is that it’s not the lowest state of consciousness that you can embody, but since it’s one of the lower emotions, it will likely negatively impact your ability to dream, create and connect with others.
In order for you to raise your energetic alignment to your consciousness above the emotional state of apathy, you will have to examine your inner world to learn more about how you got to point A.
When did you last feel excited about life?
Who are the people that make you happy?
Where do you like to go in your free time?
What are the activities that rev up your passion and curiosity?
The spark of joy, which is all the way at the energetic level of 540, can 100% guide you higher onto your journey to raising your consciousness.
But it would be unrealistic to think that you can just make the jump from apathy to joy in one day, especially if you’ve been stuck at empathy for months and years.
If apathy has been your default inner state for months and years, it’s important to understand your routine, habits and beliefs that have allowed you to “get stuck there” in the first place; otherwise, you would just continue to make the exact same choices and end up in the same place later on.
Changing your life happens when you do something different in an attempt to try and experiment with your decisions.
Transforming your life happens when you understand why you’re doing things differently, because then you become more conscious about your decisions.
If you’re serious about raising your consciousness, you have to become conscious about everything that makes you who you are and then map out the journey from point A to point B with full awareness about your own shortcomings, weaknesses, blind spots and coping mechanisms, so that you can empower yourself to achieve your goals and dreams regardless of them.
Step 3: Shift your energetic alignment
One of the most important things to mention here is that just because you’ve found a way to make the journey from apathy to joy – or from fear to peace – it doesn’t mean that you have found a permanent solution.
Life offers us many tests and trials to give us a chance to prove to ourselves that we are ready to be in charge of our own life (opposed to allowing external factors to dictate our life story for us).
Sure, there will be many unknowns on our journey, which is why it’s essential that we keep an open mind and take full accountability for our wellbeing, so that we can learn new ways to look after our body, mind, heart and Soul, despite the season that we’re in right now.
The season that we’re in symbolises our current environment and circumstances. As we know, seasons change periodically, just like our emotional state. So long as you know that you have yourself to count on, regardless of the current season, you will be able to face anything and anyone without getting defeated internally!
The more you are aligned with the state of being that you desire, emotionally and energetically, the easier your life will become, because you will be able to face both challenges and opportunities with the inner knowing of who you are and how best to handle the current task at hand while maintaining your vision for the future.
Your consciousness is limitless
David R. Hawkins has given us a bit of a cheatsheet to help us raise above our current circumstances, because life’s hard enough!
Your consciousness is limitless, but how much of it you can access and embody in your everyday life depends on your energetic alignment.
The higher you rise on the emotional map and the longer you can remain at the highest frequencies, the more you will be able to access higher levels of your own consciousness and channel them into your work and connections with others.
In other words, your consciousness is limitless, but your connection to it is limited, until you make it less so by consciously rewriting your inner operational system to accommodate for more of the limitlessness to replace your current limitations or limiting beliefs that are the true “gatekeepers” of what is possible for you.
